When is the 2012 Breeding Season?
Limited Breedings Available in 2012 from June 1, 2012 thru August 31, 2012

How Much is the Booking Fee?
Booking Fee is $150.00 Non-Refundable

What is a Booking Fee?
A Non-Refundable Booking Fee is a fee paid to Guarantee the Mare Owner a Breeding to a Particular Stallion for that Season. Technically the Mare is "Booked" to that stallion. It also covers administrative costs, etc. All Breedings must be completed prior to the end of Breeding Season, if Mare is not bred and prior written agreement between Stallion owner and Mare owner is not reached then all rights are forfeited, the Booking Fee is Non-Refundable and any additional money paid are Non-Refundable.

All of the "Regular Priced" Stud Fees Include the Booking Fee. Exception would be when there is a Special Promotion such as a Winning of a Breeding Fee or a Breeding Donation, then Mare Owner is still responsible for the Non Refundable $150.00 Booking Fee.  The Booking Fee is paid in Advance when the Breeding Contract is Returned to Stallion Owner to Guarantee Booking to the Stallion for the Breeding Year.

For Shipped Semen Breedings the Remaining Portion of the Breeding Fee, the Collection/Shipment fee, the Container fee, etc. Must be Paid in Full Prior to the Ordering and Shipping of Semen. For On Farm Breedings the Balance of the Stud Fee is due when the Mare is dropped off for Breeding and all Additional Mare Care, Vet, etc. Costs Accumulated while at Breeding Farm Must be Paid in FULL Prior to the Mare being Discharged and Allowed to Leave.

Do I get a "Live Foal Guarantee"?
Yes, the Breeding comes with a Live Foal Guarantee to the Original Owner of Record/Person who Books the Mare. If the breeding does not result in a Live Foal, then the Mare Owner may rebreed the Mare, or an approved substitute mare, the same season, or the following year. The Live Foal Guarantee is in Writing, and all details are included in Stallion Breeding Contract.

Booking Fee will be required for all rebreeds. Mare Care and on-farm expenses will apply if the mare is rebred on the farm, or all costs associated with Collection/Shipment of semen will be the responsibility of Mare Owner. If the Mare is Sold to another Owner at anytime after being booked to the stallion or after bred, then this Live Foal Guarantee is no longer valid.

When will I Receive my Breeders Certificate for the Expected Foal from the Breeding?
We will happily Issue the Mare Owner the Signed Breeders Certificate {also known as the Registration Application} once we Receive Information of the Newborn Foal and photos of the Mare with her Newborn Foal.

Do I get a Color Guarantee when Breeding to the Paint Stallion?

This is Really a 2-part question. We technically do not offer a Color Guarantee when breeding to our Paint Stallions because they have not been tested Homozygous for the Paint gene. But we do offer that if the resulting foal is not of acceptable "Paint" marking to you then you may return the foal prior to 4 months of age and in good health, and we will take full ownership of the foal and you will receive a free rebreed to the same stallion or you may choose another stallion standing at the farm.

What Breeds are Accepted for Breeding?
We Accept AQHA, APHA & Jockey Club Mares ~ Special Exceptions are listed Below.

Do you Accept Unregistered or Grade Mares for Breeding?
Prior to any Agreement to Breed a Unregistered or Grade Mare, We Will Require Current Photos of the Mare to approve her Conformation and Size. Stallion Owner reserves the right to refuse any mare for any reason. Absolutely No Small ponies accepted.

Do you accept Draft Mares, Gated Mares, Arabians or other breeds of mares other than Quarter Horses and Paints?
Yes, we can accept most breeds of mares, including Draft mares, as long as they are safe, and manageable. We Will Require Current Photos of the Mare to approve her Confirmation and Size. Stallion Owner reserves the right to refuse any mare for any reason. If the Resulting Foal will be eligible for registration through an association other than AQHA or APHA, and the Mare Owner wishes to register the foal, then the Mare Owner will be responsible for all fees associated with the listing of the stallion, memberships, shipped semen permits, etc. for the foal to be eligible. If Mare Owner fails to pay the fees associated then the resulting foal will not be eligible for registration. Absolutely No Small ponies accepted.

Can my foal be Registered ... even if my mare is not registered?
Yes. Foals by AQHA or APHA stallions can be registered with the Half Quarter Horse Registry. We will be glad to sign the Breeders Certificates and Applications for Registration. Also, Palomino Foals can be registered with the Palomino Breeders Club. All Buckskin and Dun Foals can be registered with the Buckskin Club, and all Paint colored foals can be registered with the Pinto Club. Please Check with these associations for specific and current registration requirements, any and all fees associated with registry thru these associations are the sole responsibility of Mare Owner.

Does my Mare need any extra care prior to being bred?
Make Sure your Mare is in good health, updated on her shots and worming. A Current Coggins test is also required for all Mares traveling for on Farm Breeding. A Simple Pre-Breeding exam by a Vet by Palpation and Ultrasound is recommended, especially if your mare has had any reproductive problems. If your mare has never been bred, or no problems are suspected, then a Pre-Breeding exam might by unnecessary.

What Information about my Mare will you need?
If your Mare is Registered, then we will need a photo copy of her Registration Papers, both front and back, showing you as the Current Owner. Send the Copy of the Mares papers with your Booking Fee and Contract when you return it to us to be Guaranteed Booking for the Breeding Season. If the mare is registered, but has not been put in your name yet ... then take care of the transfer prior to breeding. A Current Copy of the Mares Resgistration Papers showing you as Current Owner MUST be on file with Stallion Owner prior to the Order/Shipping of Semen or the Mare Being Bred On-Farm. We will NOT breed any Mare that is owned by someone other than yourself. The Actual Owner of the Mare must sign the Breeding Contract. Official Leases are also accepted.

Substitutes must be Approved and a New Contract must be Completed for the New Mare prior to Breeding. Questions concerning ON-FARM Breedings ...

Requirements for Mares for On-Farm Breedings?
All Mares must be Halter Broke, Lead Well, Tie Up, and be Accepting for a Handler to Groom and Clean her. All mares will be Handled by Stallion Farm upon her arrival and if she is found to not be acceptable to handle, it will be required that she be returned home. She will either need to be trained and re-evaluated prior to any on-farm breeding or an agreement of a replacement mare can be made between stallion farm and mare owner.

Do I have to pay for Palpations, Ultrasounds, Inseminations, Collections or Pregnancy Checks for my mare while being bred on the farm?

Yes, all Veterinary Costs associated with On Farm Breedings will be the sole responsibility of the Mare Owner. These Services will be billed and must be paid in full prior to the mare being discharged from the stallion farm.

Who pays for the grain, hay, and care of my mare while at the stallion breeding farm?
These expenses are covered in your Mare Care fee of $8/Day Dry and $10/Day Wet. She will be fed the same feed as all the other mares on the farm. If there are special care requirements, or special stalling requirements for the mare, then the Mare Care may be slightly higher. If your Mare has special needs Please inform the Breeder.

You are also welcome to provide all of the  hay, grain, vitamins, supplements, etc. of your choice and they will be fed to your mare according to your written directions and we will offer a discount on the mare care fees for such - Please Contact us Directly to discuss further.

Will my Mare be Pasture Bred, Live Covered or bred by AI?
On Farm Breedings are done by Live Cover on all Stallions and a few select stallions are available for Pasture Breeding, Please Contact us in Advance to Discuss Options if you are looking to have your mare pasture bred. All Stallions are Available for Live Cover and all Mares will be Breeding Hobbled prior to any Breeding to Ensure Safety from kicking, etc. of both the Stallion and Handler. Mares must have rear shoes removed, or we will remove them at the Expense of Mare Owner. If you choose to have your Mare AI (Artificially Inseminated) while on Farm for breeding the Mare Owner is responsible for all veterinarian costs, collection, etc. for such procedures.

When does my mare need to arrive at the farm?
Your Mare can arrive at any time during the Breeding Season, this is at your sole discretion. Mare Care fees, etc. will start to accumulate from the time of her arrival. We do ask that you Please call atleast 48 - 72 hours in advance to ensure we have an opening for her. Last Minute arrivals will be subject to space availability.

When can my mare go home?
After Mares are Bred, the Mare Owner is Welcome to come and Pay in Full all Accumulated Additional Charges and pick up the mare. We do not require that the Mare stay here until the mare is pronounced in foal. Mares can stay here longer if mare owner chooses, and leave after being checked in foal. The decision is made by the Mare owner. All Accumlated Additional Charges Must be Paid in Full before the Mare will be Discharged.

What Vet Care does my mare have to have before being bred?
We Require that Mares be in Good Health, and Free from Infectious or Contagious Disease. Mares should be vaccinated within 60 days prior to arriving at the Farm for EW Sleeping Sickness, Tetanus, Flu and Rhino. Vaccination towards West Nile and Rabies is sole discretion and/or Responsibility of the Mare Owner. Mares Must be dewormed. Proof of all of the above will be required to be shown if we so request it. All Traveling Mares from out of State will require a Current Negative Coggins within 6 months. Mares that do not Meet these Requirements will be sent home.
